The Oylers are Rolling into Vail!

I’ve always thought of myself as an unlucky person that’s followed around by a black cloud.  Things never seemed to go my way and I never won anything.  Well, the skies have cleared and it’s sunshine and rainbows now!  Last October, I was blessed to be awarded 3rd place in the #SacrificeNothing contest sponsored by CycleOps.  The prize included a PowerSync trainer and a year subscription to the CycleOps Virtual Training app.  Those two things have made such a huge difference in my triathlon training, making me a stronger biker.  Well, the good luck continues as I was named the winner of the “NationalFoamRollingDay contest!  Triggerpoint Therapy was looking for the most creative post to celebrate the day and, fortunately for me, they get my quirky sense of humor!

The prize from this contest is truly amazing, and includes a GoPro camera and lodging and 3 VIP passes to the GoPro Mountain Games!  This trip to Vail couldn’t come at a better time for the Oyler family.  Ever since Mike got transferred last August, our family has been in survival mode.  Mike is working around the clock to establish himself within his new office and with the new command.  On top of that, he’s making the trip back and forth between Lake Charles and Houston once or twice a week.  As I’m now carrying the bulk of the parenting responsibilities, I had to transition from a 9-80 work schedule (9 hour work days which allow for every other Friday off) to a traditional 8-hour work day, fight increasingly bad traffic and try to squeeze in tri training.  What little time we have together as a family hasn’t been really high quality because Mike and I are so exhausted and mentally burned out.  A few days in Colorado with beautiful scenery, fresh air and COOL WEATHER (the heat and humidity have arrived in Houston) sounds like the perfect way to recharge our batteries and reconnect as a family.  Mike and I have a tendency to be a couple of negative nancies, so having this trip to look forward to has been such a stress reliever.  That is a prize onto itself!

Thank you, Triggerpoint Therapy!  You guys are renowned for your products that improve physical health.  I want you guys to know that this prize will help improve the mental and emotional health for my family!
